Dean A. Frigo Shining Star Fund

Purpose

Dean Andrew Frigo was born July 25,1989 and he passed away tragically in a car accident the sad morning of November 30, 2006, on his way to school. He was only 17 years old and a Junior Student at Lowell Senior High School in Lowell, Indiana. Family and friends described him as selfless, kind, loyal, and a friend to all. In his short time here, Dean positively impacted so many people and it continues today.

Since his passing, his mother Nancy Frigo Svetanoff and his sister Desiree Frigo Wood, have created the 33 RDP Dean A Frigo Foundation, hosted annual 5k walks, awarded over $100,000 in scholarships to Lowell students, and recently opened an unrestricted endowment fund with Legacy Foundation that will “Pay It Forward” for years to come!

This fund was established to support to community grant-making in Lake County, Indiana. Gifts to this fund allow Legacy Foundation’s staff and Grants Committee to evaluate aspects of community well being in areas of arts and culture, economic development, education, environment, health and human services, neighborhood revitalization and more. Your gift is highly flexible and available to meet the breadth of community needs—including future needs that may not yet be imagined.

Gifts made to the Lake County Community Fund, or another unrestricted fund at Legacy Foundation will be matched $2-for-$1.
