Pangere Fund for Retinal Research

Purpose

This fund benefits The Pangere Center Partnership at the Chicago Lighthouse.

The Center, with the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at The University of Illinois at Chicago, provides the highest quality and most comprehensive rehabilitative and ophthalmologic care to patients with inherited retinal disorders and continues the legacy of renowned ophthalmologist Dr. Gerald A. Fishman - the first director of The Pangere Center. The Center, also, provides training to students in the fields of optometry, ophthalmology, vision science, occupational therapy, assistive technology and psychology and offers opportunities to participate in leading edge research. The Fishman Archives, located at The Center, work drafted over a fifty-year career contributes to the education of future generations of service providers and scientists.
