Citizens for a Sustainable Hobart is a grassroots group of concerned citizens who aim to improve the well-being of our community through revitalization, protection, and enhancement of our natural surroundings utilizing education, nature-based solutions and individual or community-based activities. We invite all citizens to participate in our positive efforts to make Hobart a better place to live for people and nature.

Our intention is to be inclusive; keep things positive; find nature-based solutions; and promote individual and community actions.

With generous support from our community our group aims to implement the following actions:

· Promote the planting of native trees, shrubs, and perennials;

· Improve access to fresh, locally grown produce;

· Install native pollinator gardens;

· Clean up litter in and help maintain nature preserves;

· Promote solutions that reduce and store CO2 emissions;

· Increase reusing and recycling

· Inspire land protection and conservation;

· Reduce synthetic chemical use in and around our homes

 

Our group meets on the last Wednesday of each month at the Green Door at 6:00 p.m. and all are welcome to attend. Please follow us on Facebook and Instagram
