About Carolyn Saxton

Carolyn Saxton has been a CFRE (certified fund raising executive) since 1992.  She has been dedicated to a not-for-profit career beginning after her graduation from West Virginia Wesleyan College. Carolyn has served as executive director of Community Hospice (KY); Community Chest of Oak Park and River Forest (IL); Oak Park-River Forest Community Foundation (IL); and Lubeznik Center for the Arts (IN) before taking over the reins of Legacy Foundation.  She chaired the first public art committee in Michigan City (IN) and was the impetus for attracting ArtSpace (live/work apartments) to Michigan City, the first of its kind in Indiana. She has raised millions of dollars during her tenured career most recently working on GIFT VII to raise $1,875,000 to meet the challenge presented from the Lilly Endowment. She is married to Bill Gregory and has a blended family of 4 children and 9 grandchildren.
