Elena Dwyre, chief executive officer of Campagna Academy, accepts an $8,500 check from Barry Tyler, program officer of Legacy Foundation, during a recent meeting with Keith Jacobs of Experiential Systems of Lansing, IL. "This grant award from the Foundation's Lake County Community Fund is instrumental in constructing a low-ropes challenge course on our Schererville campus," said Elena Dwyre.
"The course will provide another therapeutic milieu to our services and will help our residential boys and girls to focus on personal achievements while confronting and overcoming their personal fears and anxieties. And yes, they will have some fun and unique exercise outdoors," she added.
The installation of the course and training of agency staff are expected to be completed sometime by mid-July. "We look forward to eventually opening our new challenge course to the community," Dwyre added.
