Legacy Foundation Hosts First Wise Women Give Where They Live Event

Legacy Foundation, Lake County's leading philanthropic partner, gathered more than 70 women from Lake County to celebrate Legacy Foundation's event, Wise Women Give Where They Live.

Over cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, attendees shared ways in which they contribute to Lake County and ideas about the future of the community.

"It was a wonderful opportunity for women to share information, understand that there is a large community of women interested in working together for progress in Lake County, and recognize how Legacy can help them actualize their ideas," said Nancy Clifford, Legacy Foundation Board Chair.

The reception featured Legacy Foundation board members Margot Clark, Nancy Clifford and Sandra Snearly-Vosberg who shared why women of the Legacy board are dedicated to their community. Barbara Miller-Meeker was also a guest speaker. Meeker established the Barbara Miller-Meeker Art Scholarship at Legacy Foundation, to encourage Munster High School seniors pursuing the visual arts.

Legacy Vice President, Lara Kalwinski, had the idea to host a women's event in order to gain an understanding of why and how women support their communities.

The reception was held at Innsbrook Country Club, 6701 Taft Street Merrillville, IN. BMO Harris sponsored the event and had representatives share how they are committed to being involved in the community.
