The Rules
All project proposals must be submitted by a nonprofit organization or public school located in Lake County, Indiana. Project ideas must be for the benefit of Lake County, Indiana and its residents, whether for a specific neighborhood or the county as a whole. All grant application entries become the property of the Legacy Foundation.

A committee of Legacy Foundation staff and volunteers will review all submitted applications and select 8 to receive a spot on the bracket. The top 8 finalists will be selected based on creativity, innovation, potential to be realized, and social impact.

From there, it’s up to the public to decide the project they like best! The contest takes place from 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 through Monday, April 2, 2018 at 11:59 PM. The project that receives the most votes will receive $2,000 to turn their ideas into reality! Winner will be responsible for implementing their project.

Winning applicants may be asked to provide a more detailed project description and project budget. Please note that the Foundation reserves the right not to publish applications that do not meet grant guidelines. As with all of our grants, decisions are subject to Foundation Board of Directors’ approval.
