It takes more than financial resources to create change. That’s why Legacy Foundation supports not-for-profit executive directors, development directors and other staff persons with training and workshops that position them to lead. Here are a few trainings from the Legacy Learning Lab that have built the capacity of our local leadership.
Endowment Building Workshop
The Endowment Building Workshop gave participants an understanding of how endowment building fits into an organization’s overall development. Trainer Suzanne Nunn, helped clarify how staff and volunteers can play a part and how to create a successful planned giving program.
Board Development Training
Andrea Proulx Buinicki of Giving Focus hosted the Quick and Easy Guide to Being and Having a GREAT Board Member. In this training session she led not-for-profit executive directors and board members through a process for developing an effective board orientation, understanding the difference between governance and management and getting the board involved in fundraising.
Grant Writing Workshop
We know that grant writing is a necessary part of funding nonprofit programs. In the workshop on grant writing, Ginger Rodriguez, helped participants understand the components of project budgets, how to submit a competitive grant proposal, how to manage grants.
